Institute Announces New Name, Other Developments to Gathering of Regional Leaders

In a move designed to highlight its regions-focused mission, the University at Buffalo’s Institute for Local Governance and Regional Growth has changed its name to the University at Buffalo Regional Institute. The renaming was announced January 17, 2007, to a gathering of Buffalo Niagara leaders at the institute’s facilities on the UB South Campus. The institute also unveiled a fresh look, with a new logo and Web site that connects users to data, reports, research tools and projects on regional issues. The event also marked the kickoff of the Regional Institute's 10th anniversary year, to culminate with a major event in the fall.
