The Regional Institute unveiled the final strategic plan for tourism development in the Southtowns of Erie County at a public forum in North Collins on October 16. The report culminates a two-year planning effort for the Towns of Brant, Eden, Evans and North Collins, and the Villages of Angola, Farnham and North Collins. The “Tourism Toolkit” includes action steps in the areas of agritourism, heritage tourism, recreational tourism, antiques and retail, visitor services and marketing. The effort - Partnering for Tourism Development in the Southtowns of Erie County - resulted from a partnership between the Regional Institute and the Southtowns Community Enhancement Coalition, which represents the seven municipalities. It has been funded by the New York State Quality Communities Program.
